Making Unicate Stronger
Our Team
At Unicate College, all teaching staff are fully qualified educators with recognised teaching credentials and subject-specific academic qualifications. This includes qualifications such as Qualified Teacher Status (QTS), Qualified Teacher Learning and Skills (QTLS), Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE), or equivalent professional teaching awards relevant to further and higher education.
Each member of the teaching team holds appropriate subject expertise, supported by academic study at undergraduate or postgraduate level within their discipline. Many staff also bring industry experience from fields such as health sciences, education, business, law, and applied sciences. This ensures that learning is both academically grounded and practically relevant.
Teaching staff are selected through a structured recruitment process that verifies qualifications, professional experience, and teaching competence. All credentials are checked prior to appointment, and staff are expected to demonstrate the ability to deliver clear, structured, and effective learning in line with curriculum standards.
In addition to initial qualifications, all educators are committed to ongoing Continuing Professional Development (CPD). Staff regularly update their knowledge through training, research engagement, and professional learning activities to ensure that course content remains current, accurate, and aligned with developments in their field.
Teaching delivery is designed to be structured, accessible, and evidence-based. Staff apply recognised principles of learning, including clarity of instruction, reinforcement of key concepts, and support for different learning needs. This ensures that all students receive consistent, high-quality educational experiences.
The college also maintains internal quality assurance processes to monitor teaching standards. This includes course review, feedback systems, and ongoing evaluation of teaching effectiveness. Where appropriate, teaching and assessment practices are aligned with recognised educational frameworks and professional standards.
Overall, our teaching staff play a central role in maintaining the academic integrity of Unicate College. Their qualifications, experience, and commitment to high standards ensure that all learners receive reliable, professionally delivered education that supports progression and achievement.
